The “PDWAVES” Consortium was founded by Dr. Claudio Babiloni (Sapienza University of Rome, Italy) and Dr. Peter Fuhr (University of Basel, Basel, Switzerland) during the 10th International Congress on Non-Motor Dysfunctions in Parkinson’s Disease and Related Disorders held in Nice, France, in December 2014.
Its mission is to:
Investigate abnormalities in neurophysiological mechanisms of quiet vigilance in patients suffering from Parkinson’s, Lewy Body, and Alzheimer’ diseases by advanced analyses of resting state EEG waves;
Qualify EEG biomarkers derived from those EEG waves as diagnostic, prognostic, predictive, monitoring, and therapy response measures.
